Shared AI standards across a distributed engineering team

The challenge

WireApps is an AI-first engineering agency — 50+ engineers across the UK, Sri Lanka, and the UAE, delivering fractional CTO services, engineering pods, and production AI agents for scale-ups. With AI moving fast and engineers spread across time zones, the team was individually adopting tools without a shared framework. Inconsistent approaches meant duplicated effort and uncertainty about what was actually production-ready.

What we did

We ran a 6-week AI engineering programme built around WireApps' own delivery workflow. Engineers weren't learning abstract concepts — they were improving the real systems they ship to clients every day. The curriculum covered Claude integration, agentic patterns, production AI evals, and workflow automation.

Given the distributed team, sessions were designed to create shared vocabulary and agreed standards that travel across time zones — not just individual productivity wins.

The outcome

The team came away with a unified approach to AI development, production-ready Claude integrations, and a reusable internal AI playbook. Review cycles shortened and feature delivery accelerated — with engineers able to confidently scope and build AI features end-to-end.
